Getting Started
Within the quote section, as well as creating new quotes, and viewing previous quotes, you can also get detailed reports on all the quotes on everything you have quoted within a given date range.
Everything you have previously quoted will be in the ‘All Quotes’ section, which is broken down into Draft, Pending, Quotes Won and Quotes Lost. You can quickly work through the pending list and mark quotes as won or lost.
Creating a New Quote
To get started select a customer from the dropdown list (if it’s a customer you’ve previously quoted), or select ‘Add new customer’.
If it’s a new customer, enter all their details as shown on the screenshot. There’s also a notes field that’s only for your use – you can add anything in here, only you will have access to this.
On the quote page you can also choose to add text to the quote description from templates. This is really useful if you use the same chunks of text over and over again. Simply create a template for each chunk of text and they’ll be available in your dropdown list.
Add your total cost to the quote. If you are VAT registered, just enter the cost excluding VAT – SimpleQuotes will automatically add this on.
To finish, click ‘preview quote’.

Preview Quote
Once you have completed all of the details on the previous screen you will get a preview to see how the finished quote will look. From here you can choose to go back and edit it, save the quote as a draft (which you can come back to later), or send it to the customer.
If you click send quote, SimpleQuotes will automatically email it to the customer as an attachment, along with a covering email with all of your company information. You will also receive a copy of this email so you can see what has been sent.
Within the email the customer can click a link to automatically accept or reject the quote.
All Quotes
Here you will find all of the quotes you have created. You can filter these using the dropdown menu to show just quotes won, quotes lost, draft or pending quotes.
Within the pending quotes section you have the option to mark a quote as accepted or rejected by clicking the tick or cross icon.
Draft quotes are identifiable by a white background – you can click the edit button to finish these.

Quote Reports
Simply enter a start date and an end date and SimpleQuotes will display all of the quotes you have prepared between the two dates.
At the end of the list it will also show a summary of this, with the total amount you have quoted in this period and the total won.
You can also export this as a CSV file which you can then open up in Excel or import into any accounts package.
